It’s Friday! It is warm outside and everything is starting to bloom. It puts you in the mood for spring cleaning or perhaps even going to an open house or two. If you are thinking of attending an open house this weekend here are a few helpful hints to make the experience more enjoyable. First, make a plan. Our open houses are listed on the website, www.ashleyfinney.com but you may also check out other local publications to find open houses. You will want to start with a small area and small amount of homes to see; don’t get overwhelmed. Second, do a little research. It is good to know how long the homes you are looking at have been on the market (of course, the agent at the open house can also give you this information). Third, take your time at the open house. Make sure to look around and maybe even take the time to people watch. Sometimes others pick up on something you might have missed like that fantastic walk in closet in the master suite. Fourth, the agent there will not bite, they are there to answer questions and be helpful. A good realtor does not want to put you into a home you don’t want and they certainly don’t want to pressure you. If it’s not the house for you they might be able to point you in the direction of the right one. You don’t have to talk to us but we love it when you do! Finally, open houses can sometimes be exhausting, don’t get discouraged if you don’t find the right home. Remember you have to see a few of the wrong ones to appreciate the right one.
